On October 25 the biggest UFC championship fight will happen between lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champion Justin Gaethje. Khabib is the phenomenal grappler who is undefeated with 28 wins. He is known to have defeated the former champion, the flamboyant Conor McGregor. On the other hand, Gaethje has recently snapped the winning streak of Tony Ferguson who was supposed to fight Nurmagomedov who was not allowed due to the covid. The odds are favoring Khabib but Gaethje has a good fighting chance with his fighting style of relentless attack.

As expected, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov successfully defended his title via a submission. But it was not expected to last that short - challenger Justin Gaethje was submitted in the 2nd round after a fairly even striking in the 1st round. It is the 29th win of Nurmagomedov with no loss yet. Now it is only Tony Fergusson that is looking to be the best challenger for the champion. We shall know in the next few days.

It is a surprise to know that UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is relinquishing his throne. With a fight record of 29-0 it is a good exit to protect his immaculate record and admittedly there is no one in sight who could beat him except maybe Tony Ferguson.. But everything is under the bridge now, so to speak, that it seems Khabib is serious with his retirement. He said he wanted to enjoy his family since his father died a few months ago. With the sudden retirement of the champion it is now a free-for-all situation in the lightweight division of the UFC.
