This movie is from the novel of Isaac Asimov about the robots being manufactured to serve as domestic help in homes. But there was a quirk that one robot was unique that he has the brain like a human. Will Smith is the detective who suspected the unique robot to be involved in the murder of the head of the USR, the company that makes the robots. One nice movie.

I have heard about this novel but haven't read it nor seen the movie. Is this book good for kids as well? My son is 12 and he really like science fiction so I want to introduce Isaac Asimov books to him.

I think this movie is a good example of what can happen when we get into the future and everything is relied on by Robots (even when governed by laws they still can evolve to understand the laws differently, as humans do). Reminds me of the movie A.I. (also another movie around this but with a child robot who thinks he is human).

I did see this movie quite recently and it is a very lovely movie. Although it is all a fantasy and make believe, I really think that if people keep working at making computers more and more intelligent, this movie-like scenario can really become true one day.
