Our city is great that they offer both a recycle bin as well as an organics bin. Food scraps, soiled paper, brushes, etc goes into the organics bin. All recyclable item can go in the blue recycling bin. We try our best to only throw away things that cannot go in either bin.

Do you recycle?

Of course, we do pretty well at reusing things. For instance one of my favorite yogurts are sold in these cute glasses so we use these as drinking cups and for arts and crafts for projects with my daughter.

what makes me mad is seeing people tossing cans and bottles in the garbage when they could get paid for the return.

They don't have a recycling deposit program here in Texas but I agree with you. I think public spaces should make it easier for people to recycle too, by designating a recycle bin near the trash receptical.

I do try to recycle as much as I can but I won't go completely out of my way to do it. For example, with things like food containers and some glassware, you have to wash it before recycling. I won't bother with that so I'll just chuck it in a regular bin.

We Recycle but we also do Reuse, Rethink. We go out of our way because people tend to think, Oh it's just one. Well, if a million people thought that, that's now one million pieces of trash!
We use canvas bags for the store. Restaurants we bring our own containers, napkins, even straws. Yes, it can be cumbersome & I can't control others, but I can limit what I do for myself & my own family.

Canada is big into this program as well and we try and do our part as much as we can, we also use canvas bags to shop as many places here have done away with plastics.

yes we have no choice here
