Monogamy:

mo·nog·a·my/məˈnäɡəmē/

noun
  1. the practice or state of being married to one person at a time.
"Judaism has journeyed from polygamy to strict monogamy"
  2. The practice or state of having a sexual relationship with only one partner.
"younger men were more likely to stray, saying monogamy was outdated"
  3. The habit of having only one mate at a time.
"monogamy is rare in most animal groups, but is common among birds."
What is your outlook on monogamy? Discuss!

I'm not sure if the Bible really promotes monogomy over polygamy. Where in the Bible does it exactly condemn polygamy? Anyway, though, the problem with polygamy might be the outrageous jealousy, assuming one or more of the married people are madly in love.

Anyway, the Bible seems a bit sexist in that it allowed, for instance, King Solomon to have hundreds of wives, but a woman is forbidden from more than one husband - from what I can tell.

That's just one of the examples of the usage of the word from the dictionary. I'm not personally saying anything in regards to the Bible. I'm just asking about people's perspective of monogamy. Though, I will say that just because someone is in a polygamous relationship, doesn't mean there will be "outrageous jealousy." There's a lot that goes into it, including trust and communication so that sort of thing doesn't necessarily happen.

This is a fascinating topic and indeed some like Mormons and Muslims practice polygamy and I wonder how it works harmoniously. Well, also there is this "open relationship" thing.

I’d like to believe in it yet yes, as polygamy does indeed seem disrespectful to your romantic partner in a relationship.

To be honest, I don't care if my woman lusts after other men in private. However, I don't want it rubbed in. If she's rubbing it in - it's a sign she's disappointed with me.

O.K., I admit I've hurt her feelings by looking and mentioning other women to her out loud. O.K. I learned my lesson - very harshly.

Yes I believe in monogamy and I can never allow myself to be part of a polygamy marriage or relationship.
Its either you choose one or I leave you.
