How many of you use custom themes for Windows by tweaking the settings a little?
I do. I have even installed third party software for others custom themes as well.
They look really good and they can impress people, a lot. My startup button is also customized.
So, what about you guys? Do you use the default theme or do you use custom themes?

Well, the thrill will go soon. Then you will come back to using the default theme. I used to customize the look of mine. But when Windows 10 was released, it was well designed with all the looks i would wish for. I used to customized mine to look like glass and transparent. Especially windows vista and XP whose default them was boring.

I run predominantly Linux machines, except my main desktop, which is Win 10 (for now), and I just keep it bog standard in terms of theme. I've got rotating desktop backgrounds, but otherwise, nothing special. Linux customization is more fun, though I did used to change the WinXP and Vista themes, as well, because they were just awful and some of the themes out there were nice. Now, though, it's just unneeded.

I used to have a great time customizing Win7 with different themes and rainmeter, I'd use a program called bblean that would emulate the feel of various *box WMs from unix-like OS'.
Win10 I felt tried to get in your way a bit more, I'd constantly have to repatch the required DLLs whereas I never had to do that with Win7. It eventually got too troublesome so I stopped doing it, then I moved to Linux and am in love with the endless options to customize it.

I used to use custom themes on my old gaming laptop that ran Windows 7 as back then it was easier to do. However, nowadays I just change my background if I'm so inclined to do so. However, my current machine, I'm still rocking the standard background it came with because it's a pretty cool alien head, as I got an Alienware machine now, and i thought the wallpaper that it came with stock was pretty awesome looking already. :)
