The unblemished record of knockout artist Gervonta Davis was at stake when he faced super featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz last weekend. Santa Cruz was doing good in the first 2 rounds but Davis started his rally in the 3rd until that fateful 5th round when a lethal uppercut hit Santa Cruz who fell on the canvas and the referee stopped the fight outright. It was only the 2nd loss of Santa Cruz. The WBA lightweight belt was retained by Gervonta Davis who upped his fight record to 24-0 with 23 KOs. Yes, only 1 boxer was able to escape the knockout of Davis who is only 23 years old
