I played competitive chess when I was a teenager, joining community tournaments although I did not win any. My favorite board game is Games of the General. The men are similar to the ranks in the army from 5-star general down to the private. As a spoiler there are 2 Spies that can kill any rank except the private which is the only rank that can kill a spy. It was exciting to play it offline because there is an arbiter which makes the game more exciting.
