As a prelude to the Australian Open tennis tournament of 2021 the Adelaide Grand Slam saw 8 high-ranked tennis players in exhibition matches. For the women Serena Williams prevailed over Naomi Osaka in a tie-break while Simona Halep won over Ashleigh Barty in 2 sets.

For the men's category Rafael Nadal won over Dominic Thiem after Novak Djokovic beat Jannik Sinner, the Italian prodigy.
